PSI COURSE REGISTRATION HAS NOW BEGUN, BUT IN ORDER TO ALLOW FOR THIS EARLY REGISTRATION OF PSI CLASSES, AND TO AVOID THE "PAY OR DROP" POLICY RESTRICTIONS, FEES FOR PSI CLASSES WILL BE COLLECTED IN THE CLASSROOM, ON THE FIRST DAY OF EACH CLASS DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS INTO THE SEMESTER YOU WILL AGAIN BE ABLE TO PRE-PAY IF YOU PREFER THIS METHOD. YOU CAN ALWAYS PAY IN CLASS, THOUGH.
FOR AN EXPLANATION RE: CLASS CANCELLATIONS PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FURTHER.
The Santa Ana College District has converted to a new, completely automated system (CCCApply.org) for processing applications and the class registration procedures have also changed. Details of this are on the Registration page on this site. To be successful using our new system it is essential that you read through the instructions provided on this website and also on the Santa Ana College website at www.sac.edu
RE: FEES
TUITION FOR ALL CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES STARTING THE SPRING SEMESTER REMAINS AT $26.00/UNIT. BASED ON THIS PER UNIT AMOUNT, THE COST OF PSI CLASSES IS THE FOLLOWING:
8.0 HR CLASSES (O.2 UNIT) = $5.20
16.0 HR CLASSES (0.4 UNIT) = $10.40
RE: ENROLLMENT MINIMUMS AND CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
ON THE FIRST DAY OF ANY PSI CLASS, THE COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION EXPECTS THERE TO BE A MINIMUM OF 20 PARTICIPANTS IN ATTENDANCE OR THE CLASS MUST BE CANCELLED. WITH THIS INFORMATION IN MIND, PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS.
1. For working individuals, strive to be as realistic as possible about what you NEED to take, the NUMBER of classes you will be allowed to attend (if any), and DAYS (of the week), DATES (of the month) and TIMES (of the day) that create the least amount of distruption to your department, that short of a last minute emergency, will allow for your attendance.
2. Don't add ALL the classes you would LIKE to take, holding a space for yourself whether or not you will actually attend. This is the practice that will really hurt us and cause real-time cancellations. You should add only those classes you KNOW you will attend.
3. The very best effort needs to be put into making it to every class you have selected.
4. As SOON as you know you cannot attend, regardless of the reason, you need to drop the class. At the very least please inform the PSI office that you need to drop it and ask them to do it for you. Just not showing up to a class is unacceptable and can result in a class being cancelled in real time, with those who DID show up having to be sent away. Cancelled classes are not re-scheduled until the following semester.
